Our #1 Service
Humane Live Honeybee Removal Across the Bay Area
We remove the entire colony — bees, comb and honey — relocate the bees to local beekeepers and farmers, then rebuild and seal the structure so it never happens twice. Licensed, insured, and warranty-backed after 30 years in the Bay Area.
The Process
What Full Structural Live Bee Removal Involves
Bee removal isn't spraying a hole. It's a small construction job with live insects in it — which is why Bee Free LP does both parts ourselves, from San Francisco and San Jose to San Mateo and surrounding communities.
Locate the colony
Thermal, acoustic and visual inspection tells us exactly where the hive sits and how far it has spread inside the cavity — whether that's a San Francisco wall, a San Jose attic, or a San Mateo roof line.
Expose the hive
We cut into roof, sheetrock, stucco or siding only where needed, with drop cloths and containment in place.
Remove the bees alive
Bees are vacuumed gently and boxed for relocation, queen included, so the colony survives the move to a local beekeeper or farmer.
Remove comb and honey
Every piece of comb comes out. Leaving honey behind is what causes the second, worse problem.
Clean, deodorize, sterilize
We wash out pheromone scent so scout bees don't read the cavity as move-in ready next season.
Fill, repair and seal
Void filled and insulated, structure rebuilt by our in-house contractor under CSLB #905588, entry point sealed for good — warranty on every job.

The Warning
Why Killing Bees in the Wall Makes It Worse
Killing a colony in place is the cheap option for about three weeks — then Northern California heat does the rest.
- Wax melts. With no bees fanning the hive, summer heat liquefies the comb and honey runs down inside the wall cavity.
- Honey stains and seeps. It comes through drywall and ceilings, and it ferments.
- Rodents and vermin follow. Dead insects, wax and sugar are a buffet for rats, mice, ants and beetles — which is when pest control in the Bay Area becomes a second job.
- Sometimes it becomes structural. Saturated framing, insulation and sheetrock occasionally have to be replaced outright. Pest exclusion services after a proper live removal keep scouts from moving back in.
Honeybee Relocation with Local Beekeepers
Every healthy colony we pull in San Francisco, San Jose, San Mateo, and the rest of the Bay Area goes to a local beekeeper or farmer. They rehome the queen and her workers into managed hives that pollinate Northern California food crops. You get your wall back; the bees get a job. That humane relocation is why Bee Free LP has stayed in this work for 30 years.
